Not sure whether you need copy-editing or proofreading? This guide from the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading explains the difference.
Essentially, copy-editing is about checking that your message is clear and compelling. Proofreading involves making sure that your words appear correctly on the printed page. Are the numbers on the Contents page correct? What about the running heads? Have any errors slipped in? I can do either digital markup or traditional BSi marks.
See my Glossary for a brief description of the different types of editing I can do for you.
I specialise copy-editing and proofreading non-fiction books, reports and other content – although my experience covers a wide range of materials including adult and YA fiction. It requires different skills to edit non-fiction and fiction, but I’ve found that experience in one complements the other beautifully.
The best thing to do is to contact me and we can have a chat about what you need.
